Blotter: fatal accident, receipt of stolen goods, identity theft


Township of Bethel

Vehicle accident – On May 15, 2021 at approximately 7:09 a.m., this single-vehicle accident occurred on I 78 West, near Blue Mountain Rd., In Bethel Township. This accident occurred as Unit 1, a 2017 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Operator 1, a man from Stroudsburg, was heading west on I 78. Unit 1 exited on the left side of the roadway, subsequently colliding with a guide rail and then an embankment. Unit 1 has come to a final resting position in the median, facing south. No injuries were reported or observed. Unit 1 has been removed from the scene by Motter’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for driving on traffic-connected roads.

City of Lebanon

Drug possession – Jason Davies, a 43-year-old Lebanese resident, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia on May 5, 2021 at 2:40 p.m. on the 500 block of Walnut St. He also received an exceptional arrest warrant from the county. from Lebanon.

Disorderly driving with a motor vehicle – A 19-year-old Lebanese man was cited for disorderly driving with a motor vehicle on May 12, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at 8th St. and Cumberland St.

Drug possession – A 51-year-old Lebanese man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia on May 7, 2021 at 9.45 a.m. on Block 00 of North 8th St.

Forgery, theft, identity theft, receipt of stolen goods – Charges of forgery (six counts), theft (six counts), identity theft (six counts) and receiving stolen property (six counts) have been filed against Lori Boyer, a 65-year-old Lebanese resident, after an investigation into incidents that occurred between February 22, 2021 and March 16, 2021 at various times and locations to include the 400 block of Chestnut St. The total loss to the victim is of $ 2,900.00. Police allege Boyer stole checks from the victim, wrote them to herself and signed the victim’s name without her consent, receiving money from the fake checks.

PFA violation – A violation of the Abuse Protection Order was filed against Keith Slocum, a 51-year-old man with no permanent address, after making phone contact with the 33-year-old AFP victim. Contact was made on May 9, 2021 at 9:04 am Slocum was not apprehended.

Township of East Hanover

Vehicle accident – On May 12, 2021 at 6:25 a.m., this accident occurred on I 81 north, near milepost 85.1, in the Township of East Hanover. This accident occurred as Unit 2, a 2002 Chevrolet Venture, driven by Operator 2, a man from Harrisburg, was moving in the right lane at the location shown above. Unit 1, a 2020 Ford Fusion, driven by Operator 1, a man from Hanover, approached Unit 2, then passing Unit 2 into the left lane. Unit 1 then spun past Unit 2, subsequently causing the crash. Operator 1 suffered no injuries as a result of this accident. Operator 2 suffered suspected minor injuries as a result of this accident and was transported via Life Lion. Operator 1 was quoted for the required turn movements and signals. Operator 2 was cited for driving on roads connected to traffic.

Township of Jackson

Vehicle accident – On May 15, 2021 at 1:06 a.m., this accident occurred on King St., near its intersection with SR 501, in Jackson Township. This accident happened when Unit 1, a 2016 Volkswagen GTI, driven by Operator 1, a Lebanese, attempted to negotiate a right turn from SR 501 on King Street. the turn, she left the roadway and drilled a ditch. from the northern part of the roadway. Vehicle accident – On May 12, 2021 at approximately 5:47 p.m., this two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Poplar and Church streets in Richland Boro. Unit 1, a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 1, a female from Richland, and Unit 2, a 2009 BMW R1200GS, driven by Operator 2, a male from Kleinfeltersville, were involved. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this accident, but was not transported. Operator 2 sustained injuries of unknown severity as a result of this accident, but was not transported. Operator 1 was cited for stop signs and yield signs.

Canton of Swatara

Vehicle accident – On May 5, 2021 at 3:17 p.m., this two-vehicle accident occurred as Unit 1, a Mitsubishi Mirage 2000, driven by Operator 1, a Lebanese, struck Unit 2, a Honda Pilot 2017, driven by Operator 2, a Jonestown Man, from behind as Unit 2 waited to transform into BC Fitness at Union Twp. Unit 1 sustained deactivation damage at the 12 o’clock position. Unit 2 sustained minor damage at the 6 o’clock position. Unit 2 was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Unit 1 may have been kicked off the scene. Operator 1 and Operator 2 suffered no injuries as a result of this accident. Operator 1 has been cited for driving while the operating privilege is suspended or revoked.

Undetermined death – On May 12, 2021, this incident occurred on Swatara Rd. A 2-month-old Lebanese woman was found dead in her crib. PSP Jonestown responded to the scene with assistance from EMS and the Lebanon County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.

Canton of Union

Fatal accident – On May 15, 2021 at 4:30 p.m., this fatal three-vehicle crash occurred on SR 72, just south of Moonshine Rd. In Union Twp. This accident happened when Operator 1, Michael Khan, a 42-year-old Steelton man, of Unit 1, a 2018 Suzuki GSX-R 1000, failed to maintain his travel lane while traveling south to the location shown above. As Operator 1 attempted to pass Unit 3, a 2021 Kawasaki Ninja, driven by Operator 3, a 23-year-old Harrisburg man, Unit 1 entered the travel lane towards north and was hit by Unit 2, a 2019 Mazda CX-5, driven by Operator 2, a 37-year-old man from Fredericksburg, head-on. Operator 1 was thrown from the motorcycle. Operator 1 was pronounced dead at the scene. Operator 1 was wearing his motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident. Operator 2 was not injured as a result of this accident. Operator 3 sustained injuries of unknown severity as a result of this accident and was transported via Life Lion to Hershey Medical Center.

Canton of West Lebanon

Drug possession – A 31-year-old Lebanese man has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at Boscov’s in the Lebanon Valley Mall on February 14, 2021.
